The Book Discussion Clubs at Boulan Park and Smith Middle Schools will have the honor of hosting author Paul Durham via Skype chat! The topic of our virtual Q&A session with Mr. Durham will be The Luck Uglies, his middle-grade fantasy/adventure novel. Smith's Club will chat with Mr. Durham on October 22 from 3-4 pm , and Boulan's Club will chat with him on November 5, 2:35-3:30 pm. Mr. Durham has asked that anyone who attends the club meeting has read his book. Check The Luck Uglies out in the Media Center or purchase it there for $15. See Mrs. Chatel for an order form. All students are welcome! We hope that you will join us for this great opportunity to chat with an author. From the publisher: Strange things are happening in Village Drowning. Not that there’s much eleven-year-old Rye O’Chanter hasn’t already seen. Rye has grown up on Drowning’s treacherous streets—its twisted rooftops and forgotten cemeteries are her playground. But a terrifying encounter on the night of the Black Moon has Rye half-convinced that the monstrous Bog Noblins have returned from the forest Beyond the Shale. It's the same forest that mysteriously swallowed Rye’s father soon after she was born.
