We are gearing up for the Scholastic Book Fair to be held at Boulan Park Middle School in the Media Center on December 2-6, 2013. As your official "Book Fair-oh," Mrs. Chatel would like to welcome you to our Reading Oasis! At our Ancient Egyptian-themed fair, you will find many fantastic reads for your son or daughter. Your child should be receiving a parent letter this week and a sneak peek pamphlet about the hot items at the book fair. Would you like to honor your child's teacher by purchasing a book as a gift off the teacher's wish list? We will have a display listing the books at the book fair that each English teacher would like to have in his/her classroom library. This would be a wonderful holiday gift for your child's teacher! Can't make it to our fair? Don't worry--shop our online bookfair today through December 7! Your purchases will arrive at school before Winter Break. As a fundraiser during the book fair, we will be having a Penny War. Students can bring silver coins (i.e. nickels, dimes, and quarters) and dollar bills to put in their grade's jar and pennies to put in the other grades' jars. When students make a purchase at the fair, they will be entered into a drawing. 2 students will be chosen from the winning grade and will be able to choose one of the following staff members to "mummify"! Mrs. Kwasny, Mrs. Smith, Mr. Lewan, Mr. Franklin, Ms. Johnson, Mrs. Shankin, Mrs. Beswick, Mr. Morse, Mr. Havrilla, Ms. Dodge, Ms. Kline, Mrs. Wright, Mr. Reynolds, Mr. Martin, Ms. Jones, Mrs. Taylor, Mrs. Tasich, Ms. Gilbert, and Mrs. Chatel Mrs. Levitt's social studies classes have been busy creating decorations to help transform our media center into a Reading Oasis. Walk like an Egyptian on down to our fair December 2-6! See you there!
