The 2016 Troyberys
We are nearing the end of the Troybery program at Troy School District middle schools. In order to vote, students must read at least 3 Troyberys from the 2016 list by April 13.
Voting will take place on Wednesday, April 13, at Boulan and Thursday, April 14, at Smith during all hours. ELA teachers will send students who are eligible down to the media center to vote.
As an incentive to participate, we will be handing out prizes to students who read 3 or more Troyberys. Those that read ALL ten Troyberys will receive a special prize PLUS will be able to attend an exclusive pizza party during lunch in May! Encourage your child to read all ten to receive this honor.
Encourage your child to submit a Troybery project!
The 16th Annual Troybery Ceremony will be held on Friday, April 29, at the Services Building. 32 lucky students from each middle school will be chosen to attend from those who voted. This wonderful event will be hosted by student emcees from each middle school; they will be presenting students from the four middle schools who have created Troybery projects and will be asking trivia questions to those in the audience.
Also, students' names will be drawn from the registered Troybery voters to win $25 Barnes and Noble gift cards.
Students across the district will be able to watch the ceremony live on Troy-TV and find out which book is the Troybery winner!
We are looking for student work to showcase at the Troybery ceremony! Please see the following document. Troybery 2016 Projects are due to Mrs. Chatel by March 31. We will choose a few projects to use during the ceremony, and those students will be chosen to attend!

The Scholastic Book Fair will be coming to Boulan's Media Center on March 7-11. With the theme of Peace, Love, BOOKS!, our library will be transformed into a groovy place to be with decorations from the Troy High National Art Honor Society students.
Your child should have received a parent letter and a sneak peek pamphlet about the hot items at the book fair. Or, you can also see the letter here. Check the schedule to see which day your child will be attending the fair.
Be sure to load the book fair app on your phone or on your child's iPad! This free app will give you access to videos and podcasts about the books that will be at the fair, along with summaries, AR reading levels, and prices. Shop the fair using the pamphlet and the app with your child before you go!
NEW THIS YEAR: Students can create a wishlist using the app in order to show you what books they would like to buy. You can order directly from the app OR send money with them to make a purchase the next day at school.
Please stop by the book fair during Parent-Teacher conferences on March 10 from 5:30-8:30 pm. ELA teachers will be giving out raffle tickets to parents who attend conferences. Your child could win a basket of free books!
Can't make it to our fair? Don't worry--shop our online bookfair March 2 - 18! Shipping is free, and your purchases will arrive at school. Mrs. Chatel will contact you for pick up.
