The 2015 TroyberysWe are nearing the end of the Troybery program at Troy School District middle schools. In order to vote, students must read at least 3 Troyberys from the 2015 list by April 15. Voting will take place on Thursday, April 16, at Smith and Friday, April 17, at Boulan during all hours. ELA teachers will send students who are eligible down to the media center to vote. As an incentive to participate, we will be handing out prizes to students who read 3 or more Troyberys. Those that read ALL ten Troyberys will receive a special prize PLUS will be able to attend an exclusive pizza party during lunch in May! Encourage your child to read all ten to receive this honor. The Troybery ChallengeStudents signed up in October and have been furiously reading as many of the 2001-2013 Troyberys as they can by April 1. Troybery Challenge cards must be turned in at Boulan on March 31 and at Smith on April 1 to Mrs. Chatel in the media center. Participants will be eligible for prizes. Those that read all 14 of the Troybery winners from 2001-2014 will be able to vote on which winner they think is the best of all. The Troybery CeremonyThe 15th Annual Troybery Ceremony will be held on Friday, April 24, at the Services Building. 32 lucky students from each middle school will be chosen to attend from those who voted. This wonderful event will be hosted by student emcees from each middle school; they will be presenting students from the four middle schools who have created Troybery projects and will be asking trivia questions to those in the audience. Also, students' names will be drawn from the registered Troybery voters for gift baskets. Students across the district will be able to watch the ceremony live on Troy-TV and find out which book is the Troybery winner! To celebrate our 15th year of our program, we will choose one student out of all the middle schools who read the 14 previous Troybery winners to announce which book deserves to be called the "best of the best"--the best Troybery of all time. We are looking for student work to showcase at the Troybery ceremony! Please see the following document. Troybery 2015 Projects are due to Mrs. Chatel by April 1. We will choose a few projects to use during the ceremony, and those students will be chosen to attend!
